Heimfolk

Draft — needs review before launch

Terms of use

The short version: use Heimfolk for your family, keep your devices safe, and talk to us if something goes wrong.

Who we are

Heimfolk is provided by [Owner’s full name — to fill in], a sole trader in the United Kingdom (“we”). Contact: support@heimfolk.gisvold.org. These terms apply alongside Apple’s standard licence agreement for App Store apps.

Using Heimfolk

Your data and your key

Your family’s content is encrypted on your devices and only your devices hold the key. That protects your privacy, but it also means we can’t recover your data if every device and your key are lost. Keep the encryption key or recovery information the app gives you somewhere safe. See the privacy notice.

Subscriptions

Support

We aim to answer support requests helpfully and reasonably quickly, but we don’t promise a response time. Don’t send us passwords, PINs or your encryption key.

The service

We work hard to keep Heimfolk reliable, but it’s provided as it is and may sometimes be unavailable or change. Weather and air-quality information comes from third parties (MET Norway, OpenAQ, Sensor.Community), may be inaccurate, and shouldn’t be relied on for safety decisions.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under UK law, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, we aren’t responsible for losses that weren’t foreseeable, or for business losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for Heimfolk in the 12 months before the problem.

Ending

You can stop using Heimfolk and delete your household at any time. We may suspend a household that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, and we’ll tell you in the app where we can.

Changes and law

We may update these terms and will tell you in the app about important changes. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales; if you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
